As President of Maritz Travel Company and Experient, David Peckinpaugh leads one of the largest meeting and incentive travel management companies in the world, whose vision is to transform business and people through business events. Last year Maritz Travel managed, sourced or contracted more than 6 million rooms, booked more than 11,500 meetings and events, served nearly 3 million travelers, and generated more than $2 billion in industry spend volume.
Prior to joining Maritz Travel in June of 2011, David led the business development efforts for HelmsBriscoe, which followed his roles as president & CEO of the San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau and as the Chief Marketing Officer for Conferon Global Services (now Experient Inc.– a Maritz Travel Company). Prior to that, David was the Vice President of Sales & Catering for the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
David’s career also includes more than 15 years serving in sales and marketing roles at the Broadmoor Hotel, La Costa Resort & Spa and Hyatt Hotels & Resorts in Denver, San Diego and Long Beach.
David is a board and executive committee member of the U.S. Travel Association, co-chair of USTA’s Meetings Means Business Coalition, a Trustee of the PCMA Education Foundation and serves on advisory boards for Tourism Vancouver, the St. Louis CVC, Cornell University Center for Hospitality Research and the St. Louis University Hospitality Program.
David lives in St. Louis with his wife Jill and their children Samie (16) and Max (13).
